Uruk Quotes From Zecharia Sitchin’s Books

SEE SITCHIN’S EARTH CHRONICLES, ETC.:

(gods in bluemixed-breed demigods in teal…)

As the Evil Wind began to “spread to the mountains as a net,” the gods of Sumer began to flee their beloved cities…

Inanna hurriedly departed from Uruk, sailing off toward Africa in a “submersible ship” and complaining that she had to leave behind her jewelry and other possessions...Inanna / Ishtar bewailed the desolation of her city and her temple by the Evil Wind

          “which in an instant, in a blink of an eye

          was created against the midst of the mountains,…”

and against which there was no defense…As the

          “loyal citizens of Uruk were seized with terror…

          ‘Rise up! Hide in the steppe!’

          the deities ran off…they took unfamiliar paths…”

          “Thus all the gods evacuated Uruk;

           They kept away from it;

           They hid in the mountains,

           They escaped to the distant plains…”

In Uruk…

          “Mob panic was brought about in Uruk….

          its good sense was distorted…”

…as the people asked questions:

         “Why did the gods benevolent eye look away?

          Who caused such worry and lamentation?…”

When the Evil Storm passed over,

          “the people were piled up in heaps…

          a hush settled over Uruk like a cloak…”

Meskiagkasher reigned for 324 years. Meskiagkasher journeyed upon the sea and came ashore in a mountainous land.

ENMERKAR, 2ND king of Uruk, son to Meskiagasher under the protection of the goddess, and ruled by a king devoted to her as well. (Utu’s son)

LugalBanda– 3rd king of Uruk, son to Enmerkar (& Inanna), spouse to Ninsun

Gilgamesh– 4th ruler of Uruk, son to Lugal-Banda and Anunnaki goddess Ninsun

          “Where there was a marsh then in Unug (Uruk), it was full of water.

Where there was any dry land, Euphrates poplars grew there.

Where there were reed-thickets, old reeds and young reeds grew there.

Divine Enki who is king in Eridu tore up for me the old reeds, drained off the water completely. …”

And told of those times before the Flood

In his city, Uruk, he made the walls, which formed a rampart stretching on

And the temple called Eanna, which was the house of An, the Sky God.

The great gods paled at its immensity, gigantic rays reach up to heaven (and) the earth tremble to its core…”

To the temple, Sky God’s house,…”

He carved on a stone stela all of his toils, and built the wall of Uruk-Haven,

the wall of the sacred Eanna Temple (Anu‘s home in Uruk), the holy sanctuary.

Look at its wall which gleams like copper (?), inspect its inner wall, the likes of which no one can equal!

Take hold of the threshold stone–it dates from ancient times!

Go close to the Eanna Temple, the residence of Ishtar

(Anu’s temple residence was given to Inanna), such as no later king or man ever equaled!

Go up on the wall of Uruk and walk around, examine its foundation, inspect its brickwork thoroughly.

Is not (even the core of) the brick structure made of kiln-fired brick,

and did not the Seven Sages themselves lay out its plans?

One league city, one league palm gardens, one league lowlands, the open area (?) of the Ishtar Temple,

three leagues and the open area (?) of Uruk it (the wall) encloses.

          “He entered E-zagin, the residence of Nanibgal (Nisaba)

          and prostrated himself before Nanibgal on her dais…”

Twenty-three kings resided in Kish before its power and influence were transferred to Uruk / Erech, by king, Meskiaggasher, who was loyal to the goddess, Inanna. King Meskiaggasher, (2815-2791 BC), was the son of Inanna’s twin brother, god Utu, and he was born of a human mother, besides being the nephew of goddess Inanna.

Meskiaggasher established a demigod family dynasty there in Uruk, and entrenched Inanna’s domain within Anu’s temple.

Inanna ruled as the mistress of Anu over the temple of Uruk. Kings served at her pleasure. Sometimes that could be taken in the literal sense.

          “After kingship was brought to Eanna, Meskiaggasher, the son of the god, Utu (Shamash),

All told, twelve kings ruled a total of 2,310 years in Eanna

After kingship was brought to Uruk, Enshakanshanna ruled 60 years;
